Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Version 1.0
Stays on your device

Your hunting logbook, your documents (hunting licence, insurance), your preferences. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is shared.

Leaves your device

Only the text of your questions to the AI assistant, sent for the time needed to generate an answer.

This is the only data that leaves your phone.

ChassIA is a hunting-assistance application. It was designed to work without collecting your personal data: most of what you record in it never leaves your device. This page explains precisely what information is processed, how, and what your rights are.

01

Who is responsible for your data

ChassIA is published and operated in Belgium as a self-employed activity. The data controller can be reached at the following address:

Contact: contact@chassia.be

TO BE COMPLETED before publication: the publisher's legal name, postal address and company number (CBE). These details are required by the GDPR to identify the data controller.
02

The data stored on your device

ChassIA stores your information locally, in your browser's storage (localStorage). It is not transmitted, not viewed by the publisher and not saved on a server. It stays on the device you use.

Hunting logbook

Harvests, dates, species, calibers, locations, notes and other details you enter.

Digital safe

The documents you add (hunting licence, insurance, certificates…), stored as encoded files on your device.

Preferences

Your display language and your usage settings.

Usage counters

The number of AI questions or credits used, to manage the daily and monthly limits. No question content is kept, only a number.

Because this data lives in your browser, it can be erased if you clear the browser data, uninstall the application or switch devices. Keep a copy of your important documents elsewhere.

03

The data sent to the artificial intelligence

When you use the AI assistant or request caliber or ammunition advice, the text of your request is sent to an AI service to generate an answer. This is the only moment when any data leaves your device.

Who processes these requests

The requests are processed by Anthropic (Claude models), over a secure connection. Anthropic acts as a technical processor to produce the answer. ChassIA does not keep the history of your conversations on a server: it stays in your browser for the duration of the session.

Our recommendation

Avoid entering sensitive or identifying information in your questions to the AI (full name, contact details, third-party data). A question about a caliber or a regulation does not need to contain personal data.

04

Hosting

The application is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 Pine Street, Suite 701, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). The host technically processes the requests needed to display the application. Standard technical logs of a web server (such as the connection IP address) may be processed for operation and security purposes.

05

Cookies and trackers

ChassIA uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers: no Google Analytics, no social-network pixel, no profiling. The local storage described above serves only to operate the application (your preferences and your logbook), never to track you.

06

Legal basis and purposes

To the extent that data is processed, the legal bases (within the meaning of Article 6 GDPR) are:

The purposes are limited to: operating the application, answering your AI questions, and managing usage limits. No data is used for marketing or resold.

07

Retention period

08

Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability regarding your personal data.

In practice, since your data is stored on your device:

For any question about your rights or the processing of your data, write to contact@chassia.be.

09

Transfers outside the European Union

Two technical providers are established in the United States:

Using these services may involve a transfer of data to the United States, framed by the appropriate safeguards provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses and equivalent mechanisms). By sending a question to the AI, you are informed of this transfer.

10

Security

The application is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Requests to the AI pass through a secure gateway that exposes no access key on the browser side. As your documents and your logbook stay on your device, their security also depends on that of the device you use: protect it with a code or a lock.

11

Payments and future features

Paid subscriptions and cloud synchronization of your data are not yet active in the current version of the application.

When they are introduced, they will rely on specialized providers (a payment provider acting as merchant to handle billing and VAT, and a database hosting service for synchronization). This privacy policy will then be updated to describe these processing activities precisely before they are activated.

12

Minors

ChassIA is aimed at licensed hunters, therefore at adults. The application is not intended for minors and does not knowingly collect their data.

13

Changes to this policy

This policy may evolve, in particular when new features are added. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. In the event of a significant change in the processing of your data, the information will be made visible in the application.

14

Complaint

If you believe that the processing of your data does not comply with the regulations, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian supervisory authority:
